Mike Howell is the owner of SVN | Safe Haven Advisors, which focuses on marinas, marine related properties, and unique coastal commercial real estate.

Prior to founding Safe Haven Advisors, Mike was a partner in a middle-market investment bank that specialized in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. As an investment banker Mike has transacted well over $2 billion of business and commercial real estate assets for clients that included global fortune 1000 companies, business owners, and private equity firms. 

Mike’s expertise is in the areas of strategic marketing, finance, valuation and transaction negotiation for both business and commercial real estate assets. Today, Mike focuses on providing commercial real estate advisory work for clients that require a specialist’s understanding of an asset’s uniqueness and ability to generate returns on investment. Mike’s investment banking experience uniquely qualify him to advise clients that have Business developed Commercial Real Estate (BdCRE) in which a property’s value is intricately linked to that of a business. Mike is also a founding partner of the SVN Marinas specialty practice, which has strategically aligned SVN offices in both the Northeast and Southeast of the United States.

Mike attended Boston College where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Accounting and started his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte & Touche. Mike received an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University where he taught an undergraduate Accounting class. Additionally, Mike is a licensed USCG Captain holding a Master 25 Ton certification. Mike has traveled extensively across the globe and currently resides on Cape Cod with his daughters and dog named Finny.

David Kendall is a CRE professional specializing in the sale, development, & acquisition of marine facilities. Kendall has over 20 years of experience in Real Estate Brokerage & Finance.

Kendall has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University, and is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker.  Kendall has completed the core curriculum in pursuit of his CCIM designation, and is ready to sit for the final exam to become a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate.


Kendall is a successful negotiator who’s background in Commercial Real Estate includes valuation, financial analysis, leasing, portfolio investment management, sales, & marketing. Kendall has experienced multiple economic and property market cycles, through downturn and improvement, continually evolving and improving for the benefit of his clients.  Kendall has worked with both private equity as well as institutional clients to acquire and manage their real estate investments.  Kendall lives in Palm Beach County where he enjoys spending time on the water with his family.
